Ed Blizzard Featured on ABC13 News to Discuss Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Local Physical Therapist
HOUSTON – ABC 13 News (KTRK) reported on a lawsuit filed by Blizzard Greenberg accusing a Houston-area physical therapist of sexual assault after multiple women came forward to report disturbing visits to Select Physical Therapy in Spring, Texas.
The complaint describes one victim, identified as R.B., visiting Select Physical Therapy for the treatment of a pinched nerve in her neck. During treatment, her physical therapist, William G. Abalos, “tricked her into gripping his genitals, disguised in a pillowcase.”
While in a private room at the clinic, Mr. Abalos then instructed her to remove her shoes and socks and lie face-down on a table. He then began massaging her right foot, instructing R.B. to point and flex her feet and curl her toes. Suddenly, R.B. felt a sticky liquid on her foot, which Mr. Abalos indicated was massage cream. Mr. Abalos offered to clean her foot and completed the session. Once R.B. realized what was happening, she left the facility in a panic.
The lawsuit alleges assault and intrusion resulting in severe mental anguish, as well as negligence on the part of Select Physical Therapy.
“They’re required to train people adequately and supervise them, and we know he wasn’t being supervised at this time. We know, for a fact, he was regularly taking women clients into a private room for treatment and that should have been a red flag,” firm founder Ed Blizzard said.
