Inside Edition Features Blizzard Greenberg Case in Report Exposing Hotel Negligence
NEW YORK – Inside Edition featured a Blizzard Greenberg case in an investigative report on hotel negligence related to room verification procedures.
In handling several sexual assault cases occurring at hotels, Blizzard Greenberg attorneys have uncovered troubling trends involving organizational negligence, including instances where staff members provided room keys to people claiming to know women staying at the hotel without verifying the claims or checking for identification.
The case featured on the Inside Edition report describes a narrow escape of a woman traveling alone for business when her hotel room door was unlocked by a stranger. She was able to slam the door shut on the intruder, severing his finger in the process.
“It was very scary,” Blizzard Greenberg’s client told Inside Edition. “It has been very overwhelming for me since then to try and go back on the road because of that.”
The report shows crew members testing hotel procedures by asking front desk employees for keys to hotel rooms that were not registered to them. The crew members successfully obtained room keys – including to Blizzard Greenberg’s client’s room – during the interview.
